Jewelry Care
Daily Wear
Put your jewelry on last, after applying perfume, lotion, and hairspray, and take it off first when washing hands, exercising, swimming, or sleeping. Chemicals and repeated impact are the most common causes of premature wear.
Cleaning
Clean pieces gently with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove oils and residue. For a deeper clean, soak briefly in warm water with a drop of mild, phosphate-free soap, then use a soft brush around settings before rinsing and drying completely.
Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemicals on pieces with delicate or fracture-filled stones — when in doubt, have a piece professionally cleaned instead.
Storage
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined compartment so stones and metal surfaces don't scratch each other. Keep jewelry away from direct sunlight and humidity, which can dull certain gemstones and tarnish metal over time.
Material-Specific Notes
Gold is durable but can still scratch — avoid stacking rings tightly against one another.
Silver naturally tarnishes with air exposure; a specialized polishing cloth restores shine without abrasive scrubbing.
Gemstones vary in hardness — softer stones like opal and pearl are more prone to scratching and should be kept away from harder materials and stored separately.
Professional Maintenance
We recommend having prong settings and clasps inspected once a year to catch loose stones or worn findings early. Reach out through our contact page to arrange a check-up.
